Unit: “Show the Sound”
The “Show the Sound” unit engages 12-13-year-old students in a month-long interdisciplinary project integrating music, science, sustainability, arts, mathematics, engineering, technology, and biology. The primary objective is to explore sound by converting it from an invisible wave to a visible form. Students learn about the properties of sound waves, dismantle old equipment to understand its components, create circuits to produce sound and use coding and robotics to visualise sound. The unit emphasises hands-on experimentation, creativity, and the practical application of scientific and mathematical principles, fostering curiosity and computational thinking.
